Mike Hanrahan, Stockton’s Wing singer/songwriter – TaRP’s ‘Music – A bridge over troubled waters’

‘Music – A Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ with Stockton’s Wing singer-songwriter Mike Hanrahan.

It all began way back in a room on the top floor of a house in Ennis, County Clare with Grammy Award Nominee, Maura O’Connell, when they formed a duo called ‘Tumbleweed’. Mike Hanrahan spent fifteen glorious years as lead vocalist and guitarist with Stockton’s Wing, writing songs, recording several albums and performing across the globe. He was also writer, producer and guitarist with Ronnie Drew of The Dubliners from 1997 to 2007. He recorded two solo albums, ‘Someone Like you’ and ‘What You Know’.

Mike’s original composition, ‘Beautiful Affair’, was voted in the top 75 all time great Irish Songs on Ireland’s national broadcaster, RTE Radio and voted No.7 in the ‘Best Irish Song’ poll of the last 25 years on Today FM radio.

Speaking for Myself’ and ‘Music – A Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ are Truth and Reconciliation Platform educational projects, hosted by The Miami Showband Peace Centre Online and assisted by the consultant and coach, Tracy Dempsey.
