“Speaking for Myself” is a Truth and Reconciliation Platform educational project, hosted by The Miami Showband Peace Centre Online. The Witnesses are Ann Travers, whose sister, Mary, was murdered on her way home from Mass on April 8th, 1984, and Seamus McDonald, whose parents, Mervyn and Rosaleen, were murdered in front of their six-month-old daughter and two-year-old son at their home in Newtownabbey on July 9th, 1976.
The event Panellists are the 2007 Irish World Humanitarian Award winning journalist, writer and broadcaster, Ken Murray, and the former PSNI police officer and Reconciliation activist, Lesley Stock.
This event is chaired by The Miami Showband Massacre survivor, Stephen Travers, who is also Chairman and co-founder of Truth and Reconciliation Platform. The executive SfM series producer is Eugene Reavey who is also Vice-Chairman, Treasurer and co-founder of Truth and Reconciliation Platform.
